A Message from Our president

Gratitude in Challenging Times

These are certainly challenging times where life  and the world we know is quite different from what we may have expected.  In this strange new era, I find it extremely useful to ask myself “What am I grateful for?”  Here are the early beginnings of my list:

I’m grateful for:

  • A fabulous SFBAC board and support members, who have moved gracefully during uncertain times and always keep our chapter members at the front of their minds
  • Time with my aging Mom – less than I would desire, however important time none-the-less
  • Dear friends who make it a priority to stay in touch
  • A smeye (because she was wearing a mask) from a person walking two dogs, while maintaining social distance, who said “It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it?!”
  • Knowing more of my neighbors than ever before and coming together as community
  • and, I’m only just getting started. . . .

As we move into a very different kind of Thanksgiving and holiday season, I wish you time for reflection.  Please find ways to engage your clients and yourself and try to stay present to those things for which you are grateful.  I believe this is the practice challenging times call for. Please take care, be safe, and be well.

Deanna Stouder
SFBAC President 2020
