President’s Message

The long hot days of summer are upon us - unless you live in San Francisco! The surprise for every San Francisco visitor in July and August is how surprisingly brisk, cold and foggy our city by the bay can be! And it seems that everyone is on vacation - being everywhere else, but home.

It’s also a time for mid-year reflection. Everyone in the SFBAC family - board, committees and members, have made terrific strides in the first half of 2016. In thinking about what we have accomplished, I would like to acknowledge all of you, as it’s quite a list:

  • We have established a leadership sustainability plan for SFBAC and expanded our board to 16 members;

  • We developed our first 1-page business plan - and are on track with implementation;

  • Initiated our quarterly member networking events to help build member connections and resources within our community;

  • Members at SFBAC, Sacramento and San Diego chapters accepted our International Coaching Week challenge and expanded it to an entire month-long outreach that provided hundreds of pro-bono coaching hours to their communities;

  • We have created an internal resources page for our members to assist in building their practice, sharing tools, ideas and apps that can help streamline operational processes;

  • Our website it undergoing a massive transformation - and once it is rolled out, we anticipate you will find it much more interactive and relevant to you.

We have begun planning our October interactive networking event, where we want to have professional photographers, brand specialists, social media marketers & copywriters available to help members tighten up their online profiles, get current headshots and shoot a 1-minute video introduction. We will also have members from our Marcom team available to help show you how to upload your photo and bio into our new website’s Coach Finder page. We want it to be easy for prospective clients to find you!

AdobeStock_37453692.jpegCan you help us have a successful October meeting? If you, or someone you know, would be willing to volunteer their expertise in headshots, copywriting, videography or social media strategies, please send an email to Jon Shuster at programs@sfbayareacoaches.org or Curt Mandell at education@sfbayareacoaches.org and let them know. We know the exposure to promote your talents to our members will be a great opportunity!

Chapter Monthly Meeting.jpg

August Coaches Gathering

 Public Speaking with Ease Through Luminous Listening

Attend the SF Bay Area Coaches Chapter this month and experience dynamic speaker and coach Lee Glickstein as he shares with us the path for becoming masterful communicators.

What if you could:

  • Be more authentically effective in individual or group presentations?
  • Harness your speaking skills to expand your coaching practice and build your coaching platform?
  • Enhance your effectiveness in one-on-one communications?

What would it mean for your business?

Join us for a night of interaction and insight. Deepen your understanding of ‘how to’ engage your own unique style without using performance techniques. Learn how to listen while speaking, allow for natural silences, and how to make your listeners feel truly seen.

Get ready to get your feet wet with dyads, small group circle exercises, and ‘in the moment’ coaching for a few volunteers willing to take a risk and to speak up front.

Are you ready to show up powerfully and to dissolve any group public speaking anxiety?  Join us the second week in August for some fun and learning!

  • What new features you would like to see on the new website?
  • Is there anything you would like to see more of? Less of?
  • What would bring even more value?

Please feel free to send your ideas to Sophie Leroi at: publicrelations@sfbayareacoaches.org
