President's Message - News and More News

Hello Members and Friends of ICF San Francisco Bay Area Coaches (SFBAC),  Keiko

Happy Summer!   Summer is usually a fairly slow time for our chapter because so many of our members are away on vacation.  So we were delighted to have such a strong turnout for our July 11th chapter gathering on "Coaching and the Neuroscience of Emotion" with guest speaker Janet Crawford and a very lively Speaker's Reception after her talk.

We're expecting a big turnout for our August gathering too.  This time, we're meeting on a Tuesday night (August 14th) to accommodate our very special guest speaker, Andrea J. Lee, who will be talking about "Joint Ventures and Business Collaboration ... How to Expand Your Coaching Business."  Andrea J. Lee is known widely for her work with coaching pioneer Thomas Leonard and for her book "Multiple Streams of Coaching Income."  And by popular demand, we'll have a Speaker's Reception after Andrea's presentation.  Make sure to register early for this event, which is expected to sell out.  (See below for details and the registration link.)

As our chapter continues to grow, we extend a warm hearty welcome to our new members!   This is a very exciting time to be a member of SF Bay Area Coaches.  We are a lively community of coaches that you'll love to be with and grow with.  If you're an ICF member, you're eligible to join our chapter at a discounted dues rate.  Click here to learn more about our membership benefits, dues,  and to join online.

ICF San Francisco Bay Area Coaches is a vibrant, innovative, fun and wildly successful community of professional coaches ... the go-to place to learn, grow, succeed and thrive together.

We also welcome our newest board member and Membership Director, Duncan Anderson, who will work alongside Membership Director Kellie Barrow.  You may have met Duncan while he was volunteering at our Registration Table in recent months.  We're thrilled to have him join the SFBAC Board along with our other recent additions Fabienne Doze (Virtual Programs Director) and Scott Wu (Marketing & PR Director).   We thank Janet Fjeldstad, Wilson Li, and Olina Qian for the great work that they've done as board members this year, and we wish them well on their new ventures.

I look forward to seeing you at our August  14th gathering!

All the best,

Monthly Gathering:

Joint Ventures and Business Collaboration...How to Expand Your Coaching Business

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE: Tuesday, August 14, 2012

with Andrea J. Lee, CEO - The Wealthy Thought Leader

Tired of building your email list bit by bit, only to see that your client list is still short?  Do you feel like a 'lone wolf' and wish you could partner with someone to share the work, the joys, and the challenges?  Have you tried to collaborate before, only to have it fizzle out?

Perhaps you'd like to think that something else is possible.  With just one key collaboration, you CAN achieve more in one month than you've achieved in a year.  Instead of feeling uncertain, you CAN approach a 'bigger' partner with confidence.  Instead of feeling isolated, you CAN find the just-right person and have a productive conversation on how to share the money.

In these uncertain times, collaborations of all sorts - affiliates, partners, joint ventures, guest appearances, etc - are being solidified among some of the most far-flung, unexpected and fruitful individuals.  In this presentation, you will get clear about what all these types of collaborations mean. The differences and why they matter. How and when to use each.  And how to have that all-important discussion about how to share money and resources.

Don't become one of the many whose joint ventures, once so promising, fell off the tracks because "we couldn't figure the money out." Instead, step up to a leadership role in your partnership conversations and POW, magnetic, compelling, quantum type moves become yours. Experiential exercises will be included.

Are You a Past Member of East Bay Coaches, North Bay Coaches or the Silicon Valley Coach Federation?

Keep an eye on your email inbox, as we will be reaching out to you in just a few days with an opportunity to help shape SFBAC!

In our efforts to build a consolidated chapter that meets the needs of coaches across the entire Bay Area, we first surveyed current members of SFBAC and past members of the former SF Coaches chapter. We learned a LOT about the needs and priorities of current members of SFBAC and former members of SF Coaches, and the board is already adjusting its plans for the coming year based on that input.

Now we will be surveying past members of EBC, NBC and SVCF who have not yet joined SFBAC so we can better understand your needs as we develop our expansion plans. Our goal is to use your input to shape the direction of SFBAC to be as inclusive as possible to all coaches in the San Francisco Bay Area.

When you receive your survey, please take advantage of this opportunity and tell us what you need - and what you want!
